Yiatin Chu, President of Asian Wave Alliance and Co Founder of PLACE NYC, organized the rally on Friday June 17 to protest the lottery admissions for NYC high schools this year. This year, thousands of 8th grade students do not have high school offers or were placed in schools they did not list because they had a bad lottery number, many are top students with 97, 98, 99 GPAs. We urge the DOE to find seats for these students at their choice schools where they can receive the education they deserve.
